Hello everyone and happy Veterans Day from Grant School. This is Mr. Freeman emailing with a look at things that are happening this week. I want to thank everyone who came out to our Veterans Day assembly on Friday. It was a great tribute to the veterans in our community and I especially want to thank our 5th grade team, our students, and our very talented staff members who contributed. Looking ahead to this week, we have our Student Council canned food drive and our web store wrapping up tomorrow. There is still time to bring in donations of canned food items. School Site Council Meeting happening tomorrow after school in the Library. This Wednesday our Centerville Education Foundation will be holding their monthly meeting in the Library at 7:00. Thursday is another big day. In the morning our 3rd graders will be performing their Native American play in the gym at 10:30 and we will be streaming that on our Facebook Live page for family members. Later that morning, we have another family favorite event. We will be inviting everyone to come and feast with us Thursday in the MUR. Come and break bread with us and help us say thanks to our entire school community. This year we would like to ask those that are coming to the feast to bring a donated holiday ornament so that we can help those families that lost decorations in the Carr Fire get ready for the holidays. We will be collecting them in the MUR so help us help others this holiday season. Also happening this Thursday will be our monthly Board Meeting. Open session starts at 6:30 in the Grigsby Library. Any and all Grant parents are always invited and encouraged to attend. That’s a look at this week at Grant School. I do want to remind everyone that Grant School will be closed next week for Thanksgiving break. Now more than ever, it is so important to hold our love ones close and be thankful for what we do have. Thanks for giving me some time tonight. Let’s Make Every Day Count and GO COUGARS!
