Dear Grant Families,
This is Mr. Effa updating you on our progress as we continue to plan for the reopening of school on August 12th. To date, The CA Department of Public Health has released the COVID-19 Industry Guidance: Schools and School-Based Programs. The Shasta County Public Health Department has used this guideline to make their local guidelines based on current Shasta County conditions. They have released their parent friendly version of guidelines titled: School Year Planning-A Guide to Address the Challenges of COVID-19 Shasta County Schools & Districts. Parents in schools are getting a sneak peek tonight before it is released to the community on Thursday. Schools throughout the county, including Grant, will use these guidelines to make plans for the return to school conditions in August.
Grant School will be hosting a Family Zoom meeting this Friday at 2:00 to review the Shasta County School Year Planning-A Guide to Address the Challenges of COVID-19 Shasta County Schools & Districts and how it is being used in the planning for reopening Grant in August. Updates will also be given with the progress of the Reopening Committee and how staff are making adjustments based on the current guidelines. Plans are still a work in progress and gathering of input from various stakeholders remains a key component in the decision making.
