Hello everyone and happy Monday evening from Grant Elementary School.  This is Mr. Freeman and I am calling with a lot of things to talk about.  Be sure to check out the follow up email and our district site or Facebook for more information.  Here I go…this week is Picture Days at Grant School. Tomorrow will be 7th, 3rd, and 2nd.  Wednesday will be TK, K, 1st, and 4th.  Thursday and Friday will be Preschool.  If this week does not work out, no worries because our Make-Up day will be September 25th.  I want to remind all of our returning band and choir students that our 7:30 classes have begun this week.  Band will be Monday and Wednesday.  Choir is Tuesday and Thursday.  Our Advanced Jazz Band will be meeting Friday morning at 7:30.  On the music note, our new Music Director Rachel Knott will be hosting a Parent Information Meeting for Band/Choir parents tomorrow night at the stage at 6:00.  Also happening this week we have our Back to School Nights.  Our TK-3rd grade classes will have Back to School Night on Wednesday, August 29th from 6:30 to 7:30 and our 4th-8th grade classes will be Thursday, August 30th also from 6:30-7:30.  Thursday night we will have a quick Odyssey of the Mind Information Meeting for all parents that would like to have their student participate in Odyssey this year.  That meeting will be held in Mr. Sharpe’s room at 7:30 Thursday night, after the Back to School festivities.  I want to personally invite all of our new students 1st grade through 8th grade to a special New Student Lunch on Friday in the VAPA Room.  Mrs. Sutter and I and some friends from Student Council want to check in to see how your first week or so has gone.  Two more things before I go…we are in the middle of our annual PTO Membership Drive and that drive will end on Friday, September 7th so be sure to join.  This year they have developed a PTO app with the all of the features of the old directory and so much more.  You can get more info on our Facebook page.  You can also learn more by clicking here and entering the invitation code Cougars18. And the time is now to get new Grant School gear for the school year.  Our Sports Boosters Web Store is up and running until September 10th so check it out before the window closes!  To access the Web Store, click here.  I told you there was a lot going on.  It feels great to be back to school and don’t forget that we are here for all of our families.  Thank you so much to our generous school community for giving so much.  We are still here for families that have been impacted so please check in with our School Counselor, Colleen Thompson to let us know what we can do to help.  I am way over on time.  Thanks for all that you do.  Let’s Make Every Day Count and GO COUGARS!
