A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello everyone and happy Thursday evening everyone.  This is Mr. Freeman emailing from Grant Elementary School.  You know, as the Principal/Superintendent of Grant School, I get to meet some pretty amazing people.  All of our students are great but I have here in my office today an amazing young lady.  I want to introduce you to Amira Hutcherson.  She is a cancer survivor and she is rallying support for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society “Light the Night” walk happening this Saturday at the Mt. Shasta Mall parking log.  The purpose of the walk is raise funds and awareness for research and support of blood cancers.  Funds raised go a long way to provide support for patients and their families.  Amira will be sharing her survival story as part of the event Saturday and she has even started up her own team, Amira’s Cougars.  There are a couple of ways that we can get behind Amira and her cause.  We can all go to lightthenight.org to learn more.  There we can donate or even register to walk with Amira and her Cougars.  This is all happening this Saturday and we are so proud of Amira.  She is an inspiration and a hero to all of us.  Thanks for your time and let’s expect the best.  GO COUGARS!
