Hello everyone and happy Monday evening.  I want to welcome all of our Grant School cougars back from what I hope was an amazing Spring Break.  Let’s take a quick look at what is happening at Grant School these days.  Of course school is back in session tomorrow morning and I am sure that everyone is excited to get back into the normal routine.  We will have track practice starting up tomorrow after school so 5th-8th students need to bring their signed athletic permission slip packets to Coach Bo on the middle school blacktop tomorrow after school to participate.  Practice will run from 3:15 to 4:30.  This Thursday night we have our monthly Board Meeting starting with Open Session at 6:30 in the Grigsby Library.  All public is invited to attend.  I am excited to announce that Miss April Carroll is back driving bus tomorrow morning so all of our bus routes for before and after school will be running at their normal times beginning tomorrow morning.  Welcome Miss April and happy Bus Driver Appreciation Day to you and Miss Elizabeth Mittone.  As we finish out the week we will be hosting our Spring Dance this Friday night and for this one we are inviting the 6th graders.  That will be this Friday from 7:00-9:30 in the MUR to get your tickets now.  I need everyone to mark their calendars for two important things happening next week.  First, let’s start with our Spring Book Fair that will be running in the Library all next week.  Mrs. McClung is looking for volunteers to help run the cash registers so if you are interested, please let her know.  Also our annual PTO Science Fair is next week.  That’s right on April 30th the MUR will be turned into a huge science lab with experiments and projects on display from 5:30-7:00.  Music Boosters will be on hand selling pizza to raise funds for their trip next year so make a meal of it.  This year we are excited to announce that we will be adding cool hands on STEM activities and we will have real world science and technology applications on demo for kids to check out.  Parents, if you have a cool “real world” science, technology, engineering, art, or math activity that you would like to demo, let us know because the more the merrier.  Last thing on my list is to invite all of our parents everywhere to complete the annual Parent Survey to help provide the feedback that we need to continue to improve what we do.  I know Parent Surveys do not sound all that exciting but this one has been steamlined and is less than 10 questions.  You can access the survey in the links provided in my follow-up email or you can go to our website and click on the Parents tab.  It will take less than 5 minutes and will make all the difference on our end.  If you have already done it, thank you very much.  If you have not, please do it now.  Okay, as always I am out of time.  Thanks for all that you do.  Let’s Make Every Day Count and GO COUGARS!
