A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello everyone and happy Monday night.  This is Mr. Freeman, the proud Superintendent/Principal of Grant School with a look at this week.  Tomorrow I am excited to announce that Girls Inc. will be on campus during the middle school lunch to host their first Taco Tuesday event.  They will set up in the VAPA and 7th and 8th grade girls are invited to stop by during their lunch to learn more about our plans for Girls Inc. this year. Wednesday will be a Minimum Day schedule with grades 4-6 getting out at 12:15, 7-8 dismissed at 12:45, and TK-3 finishing up at 1:15.  Also happening Wednesday is the first in our Dine & Donate series sponsored by PTO.  We are kicking things off this year at Red Robin.  Here’s how it works, take the family to Red Robin this Wednesday between 4:00 and 8:00.  Mention Grant School at checkout and our PTO gets 20% of the proceeds.  Your family wins, Grant School PTO wins, Red Robin wins.  See you there!  On to Thursday where we our kindergarten students are excited to invite their grandparents to school for the annual Grandparents Day celebration.  Students will be performing in kindergarten classrooms at 8:30 and event parking will be available.  Thursday night I want to invite everyone out to our monthly Board Meeting.  That will happen at 6:30 in the Grigsby Library.  On Friday our 8th grade students will be heading out to Shasta College for a College/Career exploration day and I want to thank Mrs. Williams for making that happen.  As we look ahead to next week, mark your calendars because our Advanced Choir and Musical Theater students have been invited to sing at the Shasta High School Pop Concert on Wednesday, September 26th at the David Marr Theatre. Students will need to arrive at 5:30 to warm up, rehearse songs, and practice getting on and off the risers. In addition to performing, we will have the opportunity to hear each of Shasta’s choirs sing as well! The concert starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Okay, I am out of time.  Thanks for listening and for everyone’s efforts to Make Every Day Count.  Let’s do it again tomorrow.  Have a great night and GO COUGARS (and Seahawks!).
