Hello and happy new year from Grant School.  This is Mr. Freeman, the Superintendent/Principal at Grant emailing with a look at a few things that we have cooking for the new year.  Of course, there is still one more day of break for students and school will start up on Tuesday.  Teachers come back tomorrow for a Staff Development Day.  Looking at this week we jump right back into things on Tuesday with our Music Boosters Meeting Tuesday morning at 7:30 in the VAPA Room.  At 9:00 Tuesday morning we will have our next Safety Committee Meeting also in the VAPA Room.  Wednesday we will be on a Minimum Day schedule with 4-6 out at 12:15, 7-8 out at 12:45, and TK-3 dismissed at 1:15.  At 5:00 on Wednesday evening there will be a mandatory parent meeting for parents of all students involved in Shrek Jr. The meeting will be held on the stage and parents of cast members are required to attend.  Later that same evening, at 7:00, we will have our monthly CEF meeting in the Library.  We will be working out our plans for the annual CEF Dinner/Dance and Auction which will be held on Saturday, February 24th at Win River.  If you would like to get involved, stop by Wednesdaynight.  Thursday we have our PTO Meeting at 3:00 in the Library and we tip off our Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament for grades 6-8.  Sports Boosters will be putting on this annual tournament and we are excited to be the middle school basketball epicenter Thursday through Saturday.  If you would like to help out in the Snack Bar, give the Main Office a call.  We would love to have the help.  All proceeds go right back to Grant School athletics and our Sports Boosters puts on the best tournament around.  Speaking of Sports Boosters, we want to thank them for their support for this year’s 8th grade game vs. West Cottonwood tomorrow at the Golden 1 Center.  We could not do this without you.  Like I said, we are jumping right in and picking up where we left off last year.  Kings court basketball action tomorrow.  Music Boosters and Safety Committee on Tuesday.  Wednesday minimum day, musical parent meeting, and CEF.  Thursday PTO and the tip off of the Cougar Classic.  Friday and Saturday is more tournament action.  I hope you all had a great break and a happy holidays.  I will see everyone bright and early Tuesday morning.  Let’s expect the best in 2018 and GO COUGARS!.
