Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day everyone. I hope everyone has had a good 3-day weekend. I wanted to give everyone a preview of things that are happening at Grant but first I need to give a huge shoutout to our Sports Boosters for the great Cougar Classic basketball tournament over the weekend. 6th grade took 2nd place and 7th and 8th grade took 1st place. We also had some success with the 2 Ball and Freethrow Competition. It was a great time to be a Cougar. Thanks for the hours of volunteer time put in to make it a great tournament. Okay, let’s look at the week…Tuesday evening at 6:30 in the Music Room, we have auditions for anyone and everyone that wants to be a dancer in this year’s musical production of Shrek Jr. We also have our Site Council Meeting at 3:15 on Tuesday in the Library. After school on Wednesday we will have auditions for our Talent Show in the Watson Gym. Thursday night at 6:30 we will have our monthly Board Meeting in the Grigsby Library. Friday is a big day as Grant will be hosting the Matsiko World Orphan Choir for a special performance for Grant School students at 1:00 in the Watson Gym. We will be streaming the performance live on our Facebook page for those parents that would like to experience this special concert. I also want to wish our 7th and 8th grade basketball players good luck this weekend as they participate in the Brett Mercer Tournament at Parsons School this weekend. Before I let you go, don’t forget that we do have our 4H students putting on a donation drive to support foster family organizations in Shasta County. There are boxes around campus and I want to encourage everyone to grab a flyer and help these students make a difference for others. Okay, that’s it for me. For more information on any of these events, please check out our web site or our Facebook Page. Let’s Expect the Best this week. GO COUGARS!
