A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello everyone and happy Monday evening to you.  This is Mr. Freeman from the Grant Elementary School District with a quick look at things that are happening around Grant this week.  Let’s start with tomorrow morning.  Our Music Boosters will be meeting in the VAPA Room tomorrow at 7:30.  If you are a parent of a Grant School music student, Music Boosters would love to invite you to get involved.  Tomorrow evening I am excited to announce that our 4th-6th grade Cougar Cops Safety Patrol will be receiving their badges tomorrow night in the Grigsby Library at 6:30.  They will officially start duty next Monday.  Moving on to Thursday, we will be hosting our second annual Cougar Cup Soccer Tournament.  For two days, Grant School will be the epicenter of middle school soccer action.  We could not do it without our Sports Boosters and we want to thank them for all of their help.  We also have our monthly PTO Meeting in the VAPA Room on Thursday at 3:15.  Rounding out the week will be our Sports Boosters group.  They will meet Friday morning in the Conference Room at 8:00.  As you can see, there are lots of ways for folks to get involved this week.  I want to thank all of our parent and community groups for all that you do to help us out.

I would like to put something on your radar.  We will be holding our auditions for our spring musical Mary Poppins this month.   Auditions are open to all students in 4th-8th grade, and will take place the week of October 22nd-25th.  Sign up sheets for audition times are in the music room now.  Prior to auditions, parents must fill out an audition interest form, which can be found in three places for your convenience- on our Facebook page, in the front office, or hanging in the music room next to the sign up sheets. Further audition information will be given to the students signed up closer to the audition dates.  Speaking of our musical, I want to congratulate all of our Choir students and our new Music Director, Rachel Knott, for their fantastic performance in the Fall Concert with Shasta High School last week.  It was a great evening our kids sounded great!

These are exciting times at Grant School.  For information on these events and so much more, check out our web site or follow us on Facebook.  That’s it for me tonight.  Let’s Make Every Day Count and GO COUGARS!
