A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello everyone.  This is Mr. Freeman emailing from Grant School with a quick look at what is happening this week.  I want to start by saying thank you to Mrs. Bunton and Mrs. Lewis and everyone that came out for this year’s Talent Show.  We had 28 acts take the stage.  That is some talent.  Way to go Cougars!  This week is another big one.  Tonight our 8th graders will be heading over to Shasta High for their Curriculum Fair.  That is from 5:30-7:30 in the Shasta High Gym.  The high school counselors will be back here on Thursday to meet with students and build up their freshman year schedule.  Those meetings will be in the Grigsby Library and parents are welcome to attend.  Tomorrow night Grant PTO would like to invite everyone to head to Chipotle for family dinner.  If you mention Grant at check out we will get 50% of the proceeds.  50%!  Thanks PTO for setting this up.  Let’s go to Chipotle tomorrow night.  Speaking of PTO, they have a busy week.  Their monthly meeting will be held in the Library on Thursday from 3:00-4:00.  Then on Friday, PTO will be turning the cafeteria into an art museum with student art work on display from all grades.  The Art Fair will run from 6:00-8:00 and arts and craft projects will be provided for kids.  PTO will be on hand serving pizza so come make a night of it.  If you are available and want to help with the setup/decoration Friday afternoon, please contact Tracee Kelly in the District Office.  We would love to have the help!  This Friday will also be Blue and Gold Day so rock your school colors and show your Cougar pride.  Sports Boosters will be meeting Friday morning from 8:15-9:15 in the Conference Room.  And last but not least, our CEF is inviting the whole world to our annual CEF Dinner/Dance/Auction on 2/24 at Win River.  Tickets are now available online or in the Main Office.  The cost is $35/person and $40 after 2/16.  See our web site or Facebook for more information.  Speaking of the web site and Facebook, be sure to check it out because there is also information about purchasing a yearbook, placing 8th grade grad ads in the yearbook (deadline is 2/16!), and upcoming baseball (2/15-2/16) and softball (2/5-2/6) tryouts.  That’s the latest from Grant School, home of the kind Cougars where we are always expecting the best.  Thanks for your time tonight and GO COUGARS!
