A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello everyone from Grant School.  This is Mr. Freeman with a mid-week look at things that are happening around Grant School these days.  I hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving break.  As we move into December, I am excited to announce that we will be hosting a Winter Book Fair next week.  From Monday, December 4th through Friday the 8th the Grigsby Library will be turned into a book store and it is the perfect time for parents to stop by and give the gift of reading this holiday season.  The Book Fair will be open before school from 7:15-8:15 and after school from 2:00-4:00 all week.  Student Council will be on hand for a couple of those sessions to provide gift wrapping services.  On Tuesday, the Book Fair will be opened for a special evening event from 6:00 to 8:00 with a special visitor stopping by at 7:00.  Our Librarian, Kim McClung is looking for volunteers to help set up Friday after school and for shifts to help out during the week.  You can stop by and check in with her or you can sign up on the link on our Facebook page.  All proceeds from the Book Fair go right back to the Library program so stop by and check out things out next week.  The Book Fair is the big news.  I did want to thank my staff and officers Jeff Edgerton, Bill Schueller, and Gary Meadows for a successful lockdown drill this morning.  We learned some things that will help Grant School be more safe in the future.  This Friday is Blue and Gold Day so show your school spirit and Sports Boosters will be meeting Friday morning at 8:15 in the Conference Room. Anyone that wants to help Grant sports be all that it can be are invited to join the fun.  That’s it for me.  Let’s expect the best tomorrow and every day.  GO COUGARS!
