A message from GRANT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Hello and good Monday evening everyone.  This is Mr. Freeman emailing with your weekly update message.  Looking back for a second, I want to thank our Sports Boosters and everyone who came out to support our Daddy/Daughter Dance on Thursday night.  We had a record turnout with almost 200 girls there.  Talking about Expect the Best!  Wow…looking ahead to this week there are several things going on.  Don’t forget to support our Student Council’s efforts to partner with One Safe Place.  They have donation boxes on campus and are collecting non-perishable goods, frozen hams and turkeys, baking supplies, coffee and tea, and unopened toys.  That drive ends on Wednesday so drop by soon before this opportunity to help slips away.  We have our Web Store for holiday Grant gear so check it out on our website or our Facebook page.  This Wednesday we will be on a Minimum Day schedule with grades 4-6 getting out at 12:15, 7-8 being dismissed at 12:45, and TK-3 getting released at 1:15.  Girls Inc. will be meeting after school for both the 4-6 and the 7-8 groups of girls.  This Thursday we have our traditional Grant Family Feast happening in the MUR from 11:00-1:00.  Come on out and break bread with us to celebrate the season for giving thanks.  Thursday night we have our monthly Board Meeting at 6:30 in the Grigsby Library.  On Friday we have a couple of grade levels going to the movies to watch Wonder.  We will be using the premiere of the movie to launch a kindness campaign.  We will be visiting students in class and talking to them about the importance of being kind and preventing bullying.  I am excited and grateful to announce that Grant School is partnering up with the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office to help students learn the danger of bullying and how we can reduce and eliminate bullying at Grant.  I want to thank Stephanie Bridgett and her staff for her help and I am excited to work together to help Grant School be the safest, kindest school around.  Like I said, big week going into the break next week.  Thanks for your time tonight.  Let’s Expect the Best and GO COUGARS!
