Good Sunday evening everyone. This is Mr. Freeman from Grant Elementary School and I am calling to give everyone a preview of another big week at Grant. Before I do that, I want to hand it over to our Student Body President, Abe Freeman with an important announcement…
Hello everyone. I want to say thanks to our Sports Boosters and the Grant community for coming together to put on a great soccer tournament. All of the proceeds from Thursday’s snack bar are being donated to the schools in Beaumont, Texas to help with Hurricane Harvey relief. I am excited to announce that over $400 was raised that day. Way to expect the best Cougars!
…Thanks Abe. I am so proud of our Student Council and our Sports Booster for making this event happen. Sports Boosters put on a great tournament and our team took second place. Okay, looking at this week, we will be on Minimum Day schedule all week to allow for Parent/Teacher conferences. Grades 4-6 will get out at 12:15, 7-8 out at 12:45, and TK-3 will be dismissed at 1:15. This week we also have cross country, soccer, and volleyball wrapping up with their last games and meets this week. 6th & 8th Grade Girls Basketball and 6th-8th grade Flag Football tryouts will be this week. 7th Grade Girls tryouts will be next week. 6th grade girls basketball will be at 3:15 on Thursday and 4:30 on Friday. 8th grade girls basketball will be at 4:30 on Thursday and 3:15 on Friday. Flag Football will be on Thursday and Friday at 3:15. Athletic Participation packets are required in order for students to participate. Also happening this week will be our CEF Meeting on Wednesday night at 7:00 in the Library. CEF is a great support for the Grant School community and if you want to help us out, we would love to have you join us Wednesday night. Like I said, this is a big week for Grant School. Let’s expect the best and GO COUGARS!
