Grant's home to school communication system

Grant uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent/guardian, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage families to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
 
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
 
  • Receive messages from Grant via email, text or app notification 
  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6 p.m. 
  • Communicate in your preferred language
  • Comment on postings to engage with your community
  • Direct message teachers and staff
  • Participate in group messages
  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences
  • Send payments, sign forms & permission slips, sign up to volunteer and more all from your desktop or mobile device
ParentSquare can be accessed via parentsquare.com or the ParentSquare app, which is a free download for iOS and Android users.
 
Support resources are available to you at any time. You can always click on the question mark on the upper right hand corner of the ParentSquare website or click on the “Help” tab (click the triple bar on the top left corner) in the ParentSquare app.

How do I update my notification settings?

One of the many benefits of creating a ParentSquare account is the ability to manage your notification settings. Users can set their preferences to either Instant or Digest for email, text messages and the app. Instant users will receive a notification the minute a message is posted. Digest users will receive one daily notification at 6 p.m. containing all messages posted that day.
 
Here are the instructions to update your notification settings in the ParentSquare app:
  • Sign in to your ParentSquare account
  • Click the triple bar on the top left corner
  • Select “Account” on the menu on the left hand side
  • Click on “Notifications” on the menu in the middle
  • Choose how and when you want to be notified

Here are the instructions to update your notification settings on the ParentSquare website:

  • Sign in to your ParentSquare account
  • Click the drop down arrow next to your name on the upper right hand corner
  • Select “My Account”
  • Click “Notification Setting” on the menu on the left hand side
  • Choose how and when you want to be notified

Instant and Digest notifications apply to general announcements and messages such as announcements, direct messages and reminders. In instances when the district needs to communicate an urgent message, a notification will be sent immediately, regardless of the user’s preferences.

How do I update my contact information?

ParentSquare syncs contact information directly from the student information system (SIS), Aeries, which is managed, updated and controlled by administrators at Grant School. Contact information changes must be made in the SIS before they appear in ParentSquare. 
 
If you need to update your contact information contact the main office. Verify that each of your children have the same email address and mobile phone number listed for you.
 
If the contact information has been updated in the SIS, ParentSquare will reflect the updated contact information the following day, after the overnight sync. 

How do I complete the online form/permission slip?

Once a form is posted, parents will receive an email, text or app notification to complete the form. Parents can only respond to forms if they are signed into ParentSquare through a computer's web browser, mobile web browser, or the app. Parents can then answer the required questions and complete the online form or permission slip with an electronic signature. 
 

How to Complete a Form from a Web Browser

  • Log into ParentSquare. Parents can use a phone number or email to sign into ParentSquare on a web browser.
  • Find the post with the form.
  • Click Complete Form and fill out the form.
  • If your form has the option to select your child, select your child from the drop-down menu under Student Name.
  • Answer any additional questions.
  • Click Save, unless your form requires a signature.
  • If your form requires a signature, click Review and Sign. Not all forms have this.
  • The consent form opens; review and click Sign Document
  • Type your full name under Electronic Signature. Your name MUST be typed exactly as it appears in ParentSquare. Click I Approve
  • If you need to complete another form or permission slip for another child, click Complete another form.
 

How to Complete a Form on the Mobile App

  • Log into the ParentSquare App and tap on the post with the form.
  • Tap Forms.
  • If you see, Who is this form for? enter the name of your child.
  • Fill out the form.
  • Tap Save, unless your form requires a signature. 
  • If your form requires a signature, tap Review and Sign. Not all forms have this.
  • The consent form will open; review and tap Sign Document
  • Type your full name under Electronic Signature. Your name MUST be typed exactly as it appears in ParentSquare. Tap I Approve
  • If you need to complete another form/permission slip for another child, tap Complete another form.

I have accounts with multiple schools, how do I switch schools to view?

Families with children at multiple schools can change which school they view. Staff members that work at one school site and have children at another site may also switch schools.
 

Using a Web Browser

  • From the ParentSquare Home screen, click Switch School in the top left and choose the desired school site.
 

Using the ParentSquare Mobile App

  • Tap the school name at the top to see other schools, and choose the desired school site.

Optional Method to Switch Schools on the App

  • Tap the triple bar menu in top left. 
  • Select Schools for a school site.
  • Select the name of the school.
