CEF Has some Shoes to Fill

The Centerville Education Foundation is looking to fill 2 board positions this year!

Two of our valuable board members, Amanda Stemple and Karly Anderson, are moving on to new adventures, and we are needing members of the Grant Community to join the CEF board.

What is CEF? A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, created in 1985, to support the Grant Elementary School District through grants. CEF is an entirely volunteer-run organization, and holds a single fundraising dinner auction each school year. A few of the grants provided in years past include Chromebook carts, alternative classroom seating, HP Surface Pro Laptops, Promethean Boards, Odyssey of the Mind trips to Nationals, and even the sound system for the gym.

What kind of commitment is needed to be involved? CEF meets once a month during the school year in the Grant School Library. For the 2019-2020 school year, meetings will be held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. On February 8, 2020, CEF will hold their annual fundraiser dinner & art auction. This is the only fundraising CEF does throughout the entire year.

Why join CEF? As you know, Grant is an incredible school which provides students and staff with resources not available in other districts because of the level of parent involvement. Not everyone is able to be on campus during the school day to help in the classroom, but CEF is an opportunity to still be involved in supporting the school, and staying connected with what is happening in the Grant community. At each meeting, you will hear updates from the Superintendent/Principal, and interact with a teacher representative and other parents from Grant to keep you in the loop.

Who can join CEF? Parents of students enrolled in the Grant Elementary School District, or any member of the community residing in the Grant Elementary School District.

Our first meeting of the year will be held on Tues. Sept. 3, at 7:00pm in the school library. We welcome & encourage you to stop in and see what CEF is all about. Feel free to email CEFGrant530@gmail.com for more information.
