Good evening Grant Families,                                                                                                                          8-11-19

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Rob Effa the new Superintendent/Principal at Grant. For those of you who do not know, I am returning to Grant from when I was the former Principal eight years ago. I am excited to be back and wanted to express my gratitude for those of you who have already reached out and expressed your pleasure of my return.

So this is the official call reminding you that summer vacation is near its end which means the first day of school is Wednesday starting at 8:20. There are a few opportunities for you to take advantage of at School prior to the first day of school.

This Tuesday at 1:00 all Kindergartens are invited to a sneak peek of their classroom with an opportunity to meet their teacher. We will begin with an informational meeting for parents in the MUR. Students will learn who their teachers will be and then be allowed to tour the class, meet the teacher, and take those beginning of school photos. Parents please be prepared to let the teacher know how your child will be getting home form school on the first day

Transitional Kindergartens will have the same opportunity starting at 1:30.

4:00 Tuesday will be the time class rosters are posted at school. Come by the school to see who your teacher will be for the year. You can also help out with the cheerleading squad’s fundraiser by purchasing food from the Taco Truck. After purchasing food take an opportunity to say goodbye to Mr. Freeman. He will be here to give his final goodbye to the school he supervised for seven years.

The new student tour will also start at 4:00. If you are a new student and want to learn the geography of the campus meet at the bell in the front of school and you will be escorted around the school by our student council.

The final note to families is to let you know we will be running only one bus until we get our full complement of drivers. In order to accommodate, there will not be a bus 43 route. We will be running a single bus route similar to the end of last year. The updated morning and afternoon bus routes can be found on the school website.

Looking forward to a great year. See you at one or all of our beginning of the year events
